Super-producer and songwriter Blake Mills has announced Jelly Road, a new collaborative album written and recorded with songwriter, jazz musician and conceptual artist Chris Weisman. Jelly Road is arriving July 14 on New Deal / Verve.
The two first connected four years ago after Mills discovered Weisman's music — he's apparently released 35 albums in the last decade — and the duo went on to work together on the music for Amazon's Daisy Jones & the Six.
Jelly Road was written entirely by the pair and was recorded and co-mixed by engineer and frequent Mills collaborator Joseph Lorge, and it's being previewed today with lead single "Skeleton Is Walking." The new song is a lovely, sauntering thing with a steady gait and a gorgeous guitar solo.
Mills' last solo album was 2020's Mutable Set. Check out "Skeleton Is Walking" below, alongside the Jelly Road tracklist.
