Vancouver metal torchbearers Black Wizard were unsure of their future last year after guitarist Johnny de Courcy stepped down from the band, leaving them on a forced hiatus. Thankfully, they've bounced back and completed work on a new album called Young Wisdom. While the full thing won't drop until early next year, we're happy to share lead single "H.U.G.H."
Built on a solid, bass-heavy groove, alongside addictive guitar harmonies, the four-minute pounder is a perfect representation of everything we love about the Wiz kids. If "H.U.G.H." is indicative of the full album, next year will surely be a big one for the band.
Check out "H.U.G.H." below.
Vancouverites can also catch the band tonight (October 5) for a headlining show at the Rickshaw.
