As previously reported, the 13-track release features the Roots leader collaborating with Pusha T, Killer Mike, Swizz Beatz, ScHoolboy Q, Portugal. The Man, the Last Artful, Dodgr and CS Armstrong.
Streams of Thought Vol. 3 was entirely produced by Sean C, with cover artwork from Khari Turner. Black Thought had delayed the efforts release after initially setting a release date for July. He shared the first and second volumes of Streams of Thought in 2018.
The Roots' most recent studio album remains 2014's ...And Then You Shoot Your Cousin. Black Thought recently appeared on a new album from Public Enemy.
