They've also shared a star-studded new "Fight the Power" remix

The last few months have been a little confusing for Public Enemy, to say the least, but the group are back with a new album on an old label.

After 25 years apart, PE have reunited with their former label home of Def Jam. They'll release a new album called What You Gonna Do When the Grid Goes Down? on September 25.

"Cultural Institutions are important. Being an integral part of one is an honour bestowed and to uphold," Chuck D said in a press release. "Public Enemy songs are forever sonic prints in the sands of time. And it's time — it's necessary — to bring the noise again from a place called home. Def Jam. Fight the Power 2020."

For now, you can listen to its lead single "State of the Union" below, along with a 2020 remix of "Fight the Power" that includes Nas, Rapsody, Black Thought, Jahi, YG and Questlove.
