Vancouver metal juggernauts Bison B.C. have announced that following a seven-year, three-album stretch as part of the Metal Blade Records family, they're now splitting from their longtime label.
The news came from the band last night (February 22) on their Facebook page, where the metal crew revealed they had received their "drop letter" from Metal Blade. The news comes just a few months after the act delivered Lovelessness, their third full-length for the label. They had also issued 2008's Earthbound and 2010's Dark Ages through the imprint.
Bison B.C. didn't jump into the specifics of their split, but the note, which you can see down below, thanks the label for the experience, and has the band optimistic about their free-agent status.
This just in — We have just received our 'drop letter' from Metal Blade. If you didn't know, we were on Metal Blade. The last 7 years has been a strange and crazy adventure toiling and crawling through the music industry. We met some great people as well as some awful people and loved every minute. Now it's time to get back to why we truly do this, and to officially be free and answer to no person, company, magazine article, chart, or poser douche bags. Raise a glass to a new beginning! Thanks to everyone at Metal Blade for trying to help us polish this turd. Peace.
