Earlier this year, Madonna put on an awesomely over-the-top performance for the Super Bowl halftime show, but the dazzling production values were overshadowed with a lift of M.I.A.'s middle finger. The NFL is doubtless hoping for a more family-appropriate show next year, and the league has now selected its 2013 performer: Beyoncé.
After rumours began circulated the web, Beyoncé confirmed the news with a post on her official website. The update, entitled "Countdown to Touchdown," features a picture of the singer wearing black paint under her eyes (like a sports player would on a sunny day). As you can see from the image above, her face paint reads "Feb 3 2013."
That's the day she will take the stage at halftime at Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, LA. So long as everyone can keep their middle fingers down and their nipples inside of their shirts, this could make for a good show, or at least where the kiddies are concerned.
