Ahead of embarking on an extensive summer tour, Beverly Glenn-Copeland has announced plans to reissue a rare full-length album from his back catalogue.
Glenn's album Primal Prayer — initially released in 2004 under nom de plume Phynix — will come back in print August 16. Physical editions will see release through ORG Music, while the digital release will arrive through the composer's own label.
Eight tracks in length, Primal Prayer is said to be "a rhythmically complex and wildly creative fusion of jazz, world, dance and classical genres." Alongside the announcement, Glenn has shared a video for album opener "La Vita" animated by Greta Larkins, which can be found below.
"I have always felt that the music I transcribe is piped in, so to speak, on wave lengths to which I am attuned," Glenn explained in a statement. "I woke up one morning speaking passable Italian. I wrote this song. By the end of the day, I no longer spoke Italian. Short, but sweet. The heart-centered operatic voice you hear is that of the late Maggie Hollis, who was a dear friend."
