Since releasing his solo LP Hendra last April, Everything But the Girl's Ben Watt has been busy touring his folk-tinged rock across North America, Japan and Australia. His first solo album in over 30 years presents itself as a reflection of his long and intriguing history exploring a variety of genres, describing it himself as "folk-rock record in an electronic age."
Watt recently met up with Exclaim! at the Drake Underground to deliver a rare and intimate acoustic performance of the title track from his aforementioned full-length release.
In this exclusive session, Watt sits solemnly delivering a heartfelt performance, pulling listeners in deeper and deeper with each descending chord. Equipped only with an acoustic guitar, Watt crafts a whirling atmosphere of raw tension and release, truly displaying his versatility as a live performer.
