Alvvays and Belinda Carlisle have been flirting with each other for the past few months: first, Alvvays wrote the song "Belinda Says" in response to Carlisle's "Heaven Is a Place on Earth," and then Carlisle called it "awesome," prompting Alvvays to declare "belinda says she likes belinda says." Now, mutual admiration party continues, with Carlisle saying that she would like to perform "Belinda Says" with Alvvays.
In an interview with NME, Carlisle reiterated her prior admiration for the song, saying, "Someone sent it to me and I was completely blown away and flattered, plus it's a great pop song."
When NME asked if she'd be up for performing it with them, she responded, "Totally! If they asked me, I would definitely do it."
Alrighty, Alvvays — the ball's in your court. The band have shows booked for this summer, including a tour with Alex G, so there are plenty of opportunities for them to invite Carlisle on stage.
