In the latest episode of Exclaim! TV's Aggressive Tendencies series, we feature Brooklyn, NY avant-garde metal trio Behold the Arctopus.
During a recent stop at Toronto's Annex WreckRoom while on their headlining tour, Exclaim! TV caught up with Behold the Arctopus co-founder and Warr guitarist Colin Marston. He discussed the instrumental band's latest album, Horrorscension, how it compares to their previous record, as well as Behold the Arctopus's unusual songwriting method and their progressive, experimental sound. Marston also talked about the technical complexity of the band's music, the decision to be an instrumental group, as well as the separation of work and musical creativity.
Behold the Arctopus's Horrorscension is out now via Black Market Activities and is the follow-up to their 2007 debut Skullgrid.
