Last year, ambitious sonic architect Bee Mask (aka Chris Madak) became the first artist to put out music through the Editions Mego sub-label Spectrum Spools. Now, following second Spools effort, the sprawling electronic epic Elegy for Beach Friday, he's teamed up with the Australian experimental label Room40 for his next effort.
The new Bee Mask release is called Vaporware / Scanops. It's available digitally now, with a vinyl edition of 500 to follow on October 1. The label describes the record as "a new and at times unfamiliar musical universe, a galaxy of complex patterns in constant states of evolving and dissolving." While it has an "organic sensibility," the finished product "belies the sound sources used."
The 12-inch two tracks, "Vaporware" and "Scanops," which apparently blend "deeply electronic materials with a swelling cascade of vocal loops," with guest vocals provided by Autre Ne Veut and Katherine Brady.
Purchase a digital copy here, and listen to an except of the A-side "Vaporware" below.
