Barrie's Reducefest Returns with Exalt, Iron Golem, Swamps

Following a successful first year, Barrie, ON's Reducefest is returning for another day of hardcore, metal and charity.

While last year's event raised money for Ride for a Dream, the beneficiaries of this year's mosh money have yet to be announced. However, not all is changing from last year, as Exalt, Prison, Mad Trapper, Ransom, False Hope and Iron Golem will return — the latter band for their final show. Joining them are Swamps, Misgiver, Contempt, Without, Short Fuse, Mourn and Strange Ways.

"We're excited to return this year with a fresh new lineup, following our success last year, and we're happy to be able to share our proceeds with a new charitable organization," festival founder Carter Loupelle said in a statement. "A huge thanks, from the bottom of our hearts, goes out to every individual and band who has helped us out, both last year and this year. It's going to be a hell of a day, though not without its sadness, as we say goodbye to Ottawa's mighty Iron Golem."

The festival will take place at the Roxy Sideroom on May 29. Tickets will be $15 in advance or at the door and will be available on the website in the near future.
