Not only does Brian Gibson man bass for noise-rock duo Lightning Bolt and drum for prog-core pair Wizardzz, he also created Barkley’s Barnyard Critters, a cartoon involving the hard-living Barkley, his band of animal buddies and the adventures they have. Mystery Tail is worth owning alone for the absolutely hilarious and head-fucking 15-minute "Episode #1” from 2002. The more dramatic hour-long "Mystery Tale” will appeal to those with skewed tastes for fantasy. Ten minutes of wickedly treated Wizardzz footage and a smaller dose of antics from the "Totem Tour,” when Barkley’s Barnyard Critters joined performance freaks Forcefield in 2003, round this out with crazy style.
