Barenaked Ladies Bounce Back with Spring Tour, New Album

BY Stephen CarlickPublished Jan 21, 2010

After a shaky 2009 that saw vocalist Steven Page leave the band, the Barenaked Ladies are ready to get the gears back in motion, starting with a cross-Canada tour and a brand new studio album.

The band, now Ed Robertson (guitar/vocals), Jim Creeggan (bass/vocals), Kevin Hearn (keyboard/guitar/vocals) and Tyler Stewart (drums/vocals), will start in Victoria, BC on April 6 and will go all the way east to Halifax, NS before turning back and ending the tour in Oshawa, ON on May 1. The tour will be supported by Polaris Music Prize nominee Joel Plaskett, excluding a one-off show at Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto, ON on February 20 as part of the Olympic celebrations.

In the band's press release, Ed Robertson gushed about the tour: "We're looking forward to another cross-Canada tour. It's a new chapter for the band, but we'll be bringing the whole songbook with us! We'll be playing our favourites from the last 20 years, as well as songs from our new record. The only known cure for spring fever is a Barenaked Ladies show. We look forward to seeing you there!"

All ticket purchases will include a free download of the band's new album, titled All in Good Time, out March 23 on Raisin' Records/EMI, and an exclusive bonus track. Tickets for the shows go on sale to the general public January 29, but members of the band's fan club can pick them up on January 26.

The first single from All in Good Time, titled "You Run Away," will be available February 2.
