While Toronto pop rockers the Balconies offered up the two-song Kill Count seven-inch back in the summer, it seems the band have more in store for their budding fan base. First up for the act is a new EP packaging some of the group's recent material, but more exciting is that the ensemble are already neck deep recording their next full-length.
A press release confirms that the Balconies will be unleashing the Kill Count EP this fall, to be sold exclusively by the band at shows. The tour exclusive features both of the songs off their recent seven-inch ("Kill Count" and "Tiger"), but also contains re-recorded versions of "Serious Bedtime," "300 Pages" and "Battle Royale," all of which having originally appeared on their self-titled album from 2009.
The reimaginings were tracked by Jon Drew (Tokyo Police Club, the Arkells) at Toronto's Tiny Apple Studios, where the band are also recording their impending follow-up LP. A street date has yet been set, but it's expected sometime in 2012.
In the meantime, the band will be taking their new Kill Count EP on the road this month for a series of Ontario-area shows that will see them sharing stages with Bedouin Soundclash and Birthday Boys. Check out the dates below.
