Lagwagon front-man Joey Cape reunites with his band's former drummer, an old Nerf Herder bassist and a couple of multi-instrumentalists for this debut. It's an odd combination of punk and '80s-style FM radio rock. Think Lagwagon meets Loverboy and you'll begin to get the idea. There are super sappy love songs and no crazy mad punk rock throw-downs. Just an odd combination of melodic pop, keyboards and a driving rock backbeat. For some reason, it all works. Maybe because it appeals to my weakness for Big Drill Car and Journey, I'm not quite sure.
