Toronto punks Bad Waitress are looking for monetary support from their community so they can tour North America with Subhumans.

The band launched a GoFundMe earlier today (August 30), stating that they have less access to grants as they are an independent project. They also cited US visa costs as a major hurdle.

"Unfortunately for Canadian artists to enter the US we need to purchase work visas and processing times are so backed up, we were forced to expedite them otherwise we couldn't do it," singer-guitarist Kali-Ann Butala wrote in the fundraiser's description. "This has cost us our entire savings at this point (thousands of dollars). We all work countless hours at joe jobs to be able to take time to tour and record and maintain living in an expensive city like Toronto. This blow has been very heavy to us."

The fundraiser's goal is currently set at $4,000, and donations will go towards flight costs, vehicle rentals and accommodation to support the band as they tour. Supporters can also receive merch like zines, bracelets, buttons and shirts as donation perks.
