Founders of a new digital culture centre called Space in Stockholm have announced plans to open a museum as a tribute to late Swedish EDM producer Avicii.
The "Avicii Experience" — helmed by the Pophouse Entertainment Group and Avicii's parent's Tim Bergling Foundation — is set to open in Space in the summer of 2021, and will play host to some of the artist born Tim Bergling's unreleased music, memorabilia and photographs.
"There will be a story about Tim's life, from his boyhood room where he was playing World of Warcraft with his friends, to his first songs, first demos," Pophouse chief executive Per Sundin said of the experience in a statement.
Bergling passed away in 2018 from self-inflicted wounds. At the time, his family expressed that "he could not go on any longer," and that "he wanted to find peace" amid ongoing struggles with his mental health. He was 28 years old.
"We are convinced that what Tim did during his short time in life had an enormous impact, and still has," said Sundin.
Avicii's latest record was last year's posthumous effort, Tim.
