The term "coronary evidence" sounds kind of disgusting. However, considering that it's being applied to two gore-obsessed technical death metal bands for their upcoming co-headlining tour across the Great White North. Could you really think of anything better?
Well, even if you could, that moniker is already being applied to the upcoming stint on the road by Montreal's Augury and Belgian grinders Aborted. Covering six provinces in just under a month, the hair will be flying fast and furious as we head into autumn.
In regards to the tour name, Augury and Aborted haven't just pulled the stomach-churning "coronary evidence" name out of a hat. In fact, much thought has been put into the subject, as it actually references both Augury's latest effort Fragmentary Evidence (released by Goodfellow Records/Sonic Unyon in late 2009) and Aborted's Coronary Reconstruction EP (issued by Century Media Records in January).
Despite being on store shelves for almost a year, Fragmentary Evidence continues to garner a strong following, earning the No. 6 position on Earshot's Top 20 Loud Albums of 2009, as well as a nomination for Best Metal Group at the 2010 CMW Indies Awards. These acclamations prompted the band to hit the road once again, but the "Coronary Evidence Tour" will be their first headlining jaunt in support of the record.
On the tour, System Divide will lend some opening support.
