Arthur Russell's Loose Joints Treated to Reissues

BY Gregory AdamsPublished May 23, 2014

Arthur Russell fans have been treated to a number of reissues over the years, from the recent vinyl pressing of the Another Thought compilation to a revamped version of his album as Dinosaur L. Now, the late composer's Loose Joints collaboration with Steve D'Aquisto will have a pair of 12-inches brought back to life. West End Records is set to reissue 1980's "Is It All Over My Face?" and 1983's "Tell You (Today)" on June 23.

As Resident Advisor reports, the new pressing of "Is It All Over My Face?" recreates the second pressing of the single, which scrubbed "Pop Your Funk" from the B-side in favour of a male-sung version of the song. You'll find a female-sung stream of the Russell and D'Aquisto's debut offering down below.

The repress of "Tell You (Today)" finds the track, sung by Russell collaborator Joyce Bowden, on the A-side along with the "New Shoes Edit," while the flipside features an instrumental version of the funky cut. Originally issued via 4th and Broadway Records in 1983, the single first received the reissue treatment from West End in 2006.

Both 12-inches come fully remastered and licensed unlike several bootleg versions released in recent years.
