Are Arab Strap Teasing a Reunion?

BY Calum SlingerlandPublished Jun 13, 2016

Scottish outfit Arab Strap broke up back in 2006, but a string of solo albumsside-projects and album reissues have since come in the wake of their split. Now the duo of Aidan Moffat and Malcolm Middleton are seemingly hinting at a reunion.

The band's website, arabstrap.scot, displays the simple message "Hello Again," along with teasing an appearance on BBC Radio 6 with Steve Lamacq which will air on Wednesday (June 15) at 4 p.m. BST. A "Listen Online" link currently redirects to Radio 6's website, though will presumably be active on the day of the interview.

Formed in 1995, Arab Strap's most recent record was The Last Romance, which came in 2005 through Chemikal Underground. Speaking with WOW247 in 2013, Middleton said: "I think, with Arab Strap, it was good at the time. But we could only write songs of that ilk at a certain age. So I don't think we'll ever record again but it might be good to do a gig."

Following their 2006 breakup, Arab Stap played a one-off show together in 2011.

While we await further details, revisit the band's video for "Here We Go" in the player below.
