Anti-Flag

'American Spring' (album stream)

BY Gregory AdamsPublished May 22, 2015

Following previews like the Tim Armstrong-assisted "Brandenburg Gate," Pittsburgh-bred punks Anti-Flag are now streaming the entirety of their new American Spring LP online. You can sample the whole thing right now, ahead of its official May 26 due date through Spinefarm Records.

"Fabled World" and "Break Something" are just a few of the tracks that put together seething vocals, pop punk hooks, furious beats and lyrical politicking. "The Great Divide" is a bayonet-sharpening look at class war, while "Brandenburg" plays relatively smoother, despite the extra vocals from gruff Rancid guy Tim Armstrong and friendly fire-leaning lyrics. While slower on the whole, the anguish on cuts like "Sky Is Falling Down" is palpable.
