Before Andy Shauf heads out on his globe-trotting tour later this month, the Canadian songsmith is serving up a brand new tune cut straight out of his Skyline universe.
Today, he shares "Spanish on the Beach," a song chronicling a couple's all-inclusive resort vacation and the language barriers and communication breakdowns that ensue while abroad. Toward the end of the track, the narrator imagines proposing to Judy, the prevalent love interest in The Neon Skyline.
"It's the same theme as the story ended up being at the Skyline but the narrator's life is a little bit booze-fueled," Shauf said of the song in a release. "And this vacation is kind of like the first stop on the way to destruction."
Previously, the artist shared a pair of B-sides, "Judy" and "Jeremy's Wedding," as well as "You Slipped Away," all of which also exist just outside the narrative timeline of Skyline.
Shauf's latest song arrives — courtesy of Arts & Crafts — alongside its own lyrics video. Watch that below.
