Made up of ex- and current members of Spread Eagle and Black Wizard, Vancouver metal-makers Anciients have been busy throughout the year prepping their debut album. Now it's been revealed that the as-yet-untitled LP will arrive early in 2013 through Season of Mist.
A press release confirms the signing, and notes that the quartet's full-length follow-up to 2011's Snakebeard 7-inch features "smoldering apocalyptic riffs, classic hard rock influences and unforgettable vocal melodies with an interplay praising both the natural and occult."
Details are still pending for much of the album, including the title, artwork and final tracklisting, but when Discorder popped by the Hive Creative Labs in Burnaby, BC, earlier this year to interview the band between takes, they were working on a track titled "Seeking Death Beneath the Waves." Producer Jesse Gander (Japandroids, White Lung) worked behind the boards for the LP.
While sound samples have yet to arrive, you can sample Anciients Snakebeard 7-inch, which was recently re-released on War on Music, in the player below.
Also, Anciients have a pair of shows lined up, including one on November 30 at Abbotsford, BC's Gator's Pub and another on December 16 at Vancouver's Venue, where they will open for High on Fire and Goatwhore.
