Alkaline Trio are back today with a release called E.P. in efforts to brighten your life somewhat.

The release features three new tracks from Matt Skiba and co., and you can hear it below. It's also coming out as a two-track 7-inch, which you can pre-order now. It's limited to 1,000 blue variants in the U.S. and 500 for Europe.

"With the tour postponed and the current state of the world, we feel and hope that some new music will help people transcend the uncertainty and possible fear they might be feeling, if even for a few minutes," said Skiba in a statement. "Music has always had a way of helping us all cope with unpleasant times. We can only hope that ours can do the same for our fans on some level. We hope you enjoy the songs."

The release comes after Alkaline Trio's upcoming North American co-headlining tour with Bad Religion was postponed. The tour will hopefully be rescheduled for fall 2020 and all previously purchased tickets will be honoured at the new dates.

Alkaline Trio's last album was 2018's Is This Thing Cursed?
