After long-running Ontario post-hardcore outfit Alexisonfire recently announced their disbandment, the rumour mill is spinning that guitarist and vocalist Wade MacNeil is in the running to replace Frank Carter as the vocalist for British hardcore giants Gallows.
In their farewell statement, Alexisonfire explained that "Wade was recently asked to join another band and he felt it was an opportunity he would like to pursue."
This cryptic announcement follows the recent news that Frank Carter left Gallows, which he announced via Twitter last month. MacNeil recently supported Gallows on a tour with his Deranged-signed side-project Black Lungs, so the two bands obviously have a long-standing relationship.
The Gallows Facebook page is full of intrigue as to who will front the band, but Canadian music journalist Alan Cross leaked confirmation on his blog, writing that MacNeil will front "the very fierce and fine English band, Gallows."
An official statement is expected from Gallows on Tuesday (August 9).
