Alcest to Play Montreal and Toronto on Rare North American Tour

BY Josiah HughesPublished Mar 31, 2010

French outfit Alcest, the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist Neige, has been going strong since 1999, though the project has taken many shapes. Beginning as a straight black metal project, Neige has most recently taken Alcest into a post-metal sound heavily influenced by post-rock and shoegaze. For proof, simply check out Écailles de Lune, the project's recently released second album.

This follow-up to Alcest's debut album, 2007's Souvenirs d'un Autre Monde, was released this week via Prophecy Productions, and in support of the new release, Neige will make some rare North American appearances.

Along with several U.S. dates, the tour includes three Canadian stops this April. Those include two Montreal shows and an appearance at Toronto's Hard Luck Bar.

Écailles de Lune can be ordered here and those tour dates are below.
