The latest episode of Exclaim! TV's Aggressive Tendencies series features California hardcore/post-punk band Retox.
While on tour with the "lite" version of the Melvins, Exclaim! TV caught up with Retox frontman Justin Pearson during their Toronto show at the Opera House. Also known for his many other projects, particularly the costumed, sci-fi grind/noise outfit the Locust, Pearson talks about the importance of progressing as a musician and how peoples' expectations don't weigh heavily on him. He also discusses Retox's upcoming album, the follow-up to the band's debut Ugly Animals, and how the new material differs in musical direction.
Ugly Animals was released in August of 2011 via Mike Patton's Ipecac Recordings.
