Exclaim! TV's newest series, Aggressive Tendencies, puts the spotlight on metal, hardcore and heavy music of all kinds. The first episode features Savannah, GA sludge/progressive metal outfit Baroness.
During their Toronto stop at the Sound Academy while on tour with Meshuggah and Decapitated, Exclaim! TV caught up with Baroness frontman John Baizley. He discussed the band's new double LP, Yellow & Green, and how it differs from their previous releases, as the band have evolved into more melodic, hook-laden territory. Baizley also talks about the art of performing live and how technical proficiency is not the group's first priority, while clips from their dynamic performance exemplify Baroness's passion for the purity and honesty in their music.
Yellow & Green is set for release on July 17 via Relapse, and is the follow-up to 2009's Blue Record and their debut Red Album.
