After releasing In Spades earlier this year, the Afghan Whigs are revisiting their early career with their first three releases for Sub Pop making a return to vinyl.
The label announced today (August 9) that the band's 1990 LP Up In It, 1992's Congregation and 1992 EP Uptown Avondale will be released on 180-gram vinyl September 8. The reissues will arrive in retail stores September 22, while fans can also find them on the band's forthcoming North American tour.
As Sub Pop points out, the two full-length releases have been out of print since their original release, while Uptown Avondale never received a North American release.
All three reissues will also be available as Sub Pop "Loser" editions. Up In It will be pressed on transparent blue vinyl with a white swirl, while Congregation will be coloured transparent red with a white swirl. Uptown Avondale will be available on silver wax.
All three reissues are available for pre-order here.
