Adele Points to Newfound Country/Bluegrass Influences

Much-heralded UK-based songstress Adele has let slip that her third album just may have a country-western music feel to it -- and her recent North American tour is to blame.

Still riding high off the stratospheric success of her acclaimed 21 sophomore album, the "Rolling in the Deep" singer notes that she intends to continue her crossover exploration of American styles of music, particularly the Deep South sound that she immersed herself in during tour stops in Texas and Tennessee.

"I was exposed to a lot of country, rockabilly and bluegrass because I was touring for such a long time," the soulful 23-year old recently revealed in an interview with the UK's Sun newspaper. "The melodies and to-the-point lyrics I have found in a lot of American styles of music is definitely something I'm going be pursuing heavily from now on. I want to spend some time in Austin in Texas and Nashville, Tennessee, and learn about it."

Adele is currently up for an impressive seven MTV Video Music Awards and will make her VMA debut by performing onstage at the 2011 edition of the award show on August 28.
