The Acorn

"Influence" (video)

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Mar 27, 2015

Ottawa indie-folk crew the Acorn recently announced the release of their next LP Vieux Loup, and now they've delivered some visuals for the previously heard single "Influence."

The clip stars Ottawa-based artist Marisa Gallemit roaming around her hometown, spending time with her work, family and friends before ending up at artsy Ottawa pub the Manx. It features cameos from the band's own Rolf Klausener, housepunk band Silkken Laumann, photographer Remi Theriault and others.

Speaking about the video to The Line of Best Fit (where the clip premiered), Klausener explained the story's ending, saying, "A subtle hell kind of breaks loose at the bar, and we're left with Gallemit at the end of the night, stoic, resolute, still, and grounded by her practice."

Be sure to check out the band's recent Exclaim! TV session, featuring a live rendition of "Influence." Then, check out the fresh visuals for the same tune in the player below.

Vieux Loup arrives on May 19 via Paper Bag Records.
