A-Trak

Infinity + One

Montreal's DJ A-Trak has had a meteoric rise to fame and there are no signs of it stopping anytime soon. His first "official" mixed CD is full of optimism, humour, bangin' beats and stellar style. Not content to just crank out a mix, A-Trak has put a ton of personality into this project and the music might shock those who remember him as 1997's baby faced DMC champion. A-Trak is legal to drink now and he's rocking clubs the world over with his transcendent take on pop culture - hip-hop, indie rock, club bangers, electro boogie, disco, nu-rave, b-more, nrg all become meaningless terms since this mix (cut, scratched and mixed again) defies simple descriptions, becoming a new definition of contemporary club culture. After listening to this dance floor thriller, it's no surprise to me that hipster fashionistas, Hollywood divas, punters and piss-drunk Princes all over the globe are two-stepping to his beats. For real, A-Trak lays it down good and hot.
