Eight years after the original Gossip Girl said its final goodbyes, the next generation of Upper East Side teenage elites are getting an HBO Max reboot. Last month, we got our first look at the new series, and now, HBO has dropped a full-length trailer that digs a little deeper into the upcoming drama.
The next generation will spotlight an all-new cast, but will see the return of the iconic voiceover work of the original GG, Kristen Bell, as the voice of a spicy Instagram account. In a recent interview with Jimmy Fallon, Bell revealed that the reboot will focus more on the social media gossip angle, and because of its HBO home, we can expect the new series to tread into riskier topics than its predecessor.
Alongside Bell, the new series stars Thomas Doherty (High Fidelity), Emily Alyn Lind (Doctor Sleep) and Tavi Gevinson (Scream Queens), as well as Jordan Alexander, Savannah Smith, Zion Moreno, Evan Mock, Laura Benanti, Adam Chanler-Berat and Jonathan Fernandez.
The series premieres on HBO Max on July 8. Until then, you can check out the new trailer and Bell's recent interview about voicing the reboot below.
