The first few details of The White Lotus Season 3 have surfaced. This time, the rich-people fuckery will be taking place in Thailand.
Sources told Variety of the season's setting, with HBO declining to comment further. Because Seasons 1 and 2 were shot at Four Seasons resorts in Hawaii and Italy, respectively, it's speculated that the upcoming production could be shot at one of the company's four Thai locations: Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui or the Golden Triangle.
While this is the first confirmation of the season's locale, creator Mike White has hinted at themes of Eastern spirituality for the next instalment of The White Lotus before: "The first season kind of highlighted money, and then the second season is sex," White said in a clip aired after Season 2's finale. "I think the third season would be maybe a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality. It feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus."
The new season's themes and locale aside, a new venue for karaoke parties and impeccable improvisation is never a bad thing!
