At this point, The Simpsons has predicted just about everything in our modern lives, yet we still haven't shown it an appropriate level of fear. After all, there's a good chance the show will outlive humanity itself. For now, it's been renewed for another two seasons.

During the Television Critics Association winter press tour, it was revealed that the long-running show has been picked up for Season 31 and 32 respectively. If they maintain this pace, and global warming continues to take its grip on society, we can expect the show to be airing behind our own existence.

As previously reported, FOX (which is now, as The Simpsons predicted it would be, a Disney subsidiary) is also working on a sequel to The Simpsons Movie.

When society is rendered obsolete and a future alien race visits our scorched planet, we can rest assured they'll get to enjoy some brand new Lenny and Carl jokes as The Simpsons continues to air throughout the infinite abyss that was once earth.
