Everyone's favourite retro-inspired TV show will soon become a retro-inspired videogame. That's right, the Duffer brothers' Stranger Things is set to take over even more of your life as a new 16-bit-inspired RPG game.

The project was just announced at the Game Awards 2018 Thursday night (December 6). According to various reports, it's simply being called Stranger Things: The Game, and the news arrived with a new trailer that's available to view below (which also seems to hint the game may be actually called Stranger Things 3: The Game).

Though there are no official release details yet, Variety reports that the game will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Mac, PC and mobile.

So far, there is no firm release date for the third season of Stranger Things, but it is expected to arrive in 2019. And considering the game may be called Stranger Things 3, it's safe to assume it will line up with the release of the next season on Netflix.
