Following a whirlwind year in the press circuit, a massive winning sweep at both this year's Oscars and Golden Globes, and even a Canuck-themed viral moment, Bong Joon-ho's Parasite is worming its way back into the spotlight for a somehow even greater honour.
If you've seen the film, you may remember the meticulously designed house that makes up the majority of the film's set. Bong Joon-ho actually had the Park house built from scratch for the film — an intentionally high-design structure supposedly created by the fictional architect Namgoong Hyeonja.
A YouTuber named 심쿵건축simkoongarchitect, who is a self-proclaimed "real architect," clearly appreciated the well-thought-out set design and has now shared their own tribute to Parasite in a new video documenting their recreation of the film's iconic Park family luxury mansion — creepy basement and all — using The Sims 4.
The nearly 10-minute video dupes the house in almost indistinguishable clarity. It even has Park Da-song's hallway paintings and the security monitor by the front door. Some of the film's characters even make an appearance!
Compare The Sims recreation video to the film trailer below and see if you can spot all of its little intricacies. And don't forget to turn the subtitles on for the full experience.
