After Charli XCX bowed out of 2021's final Saturday Night Live episode last-minute due to surging cases of Omicron — leaving Paul Rudd to host on his own — the show is now set to resume next weekend on January 15 with Roddy Ricch performing and Ariana DeBose hosting.
UPDATE (1/13, 9:35 a.m. ET): In an Instagram story posted last night, Roddy Ricch revealed that he will no longer be performing "due to a recent COVID exposure on my team." Bleachers will replace the rapper, as confirmed by the show's Twitter account.
Meanwhile, cases are still surging in the US and worldwide, so it's possible we may be due for another round of hybrid and remote-shot episodes, and it remains unclear whether or not there will be a live audience in attendance at next week's episode.
So far, NBC has yet to announce which form the upcoming episodes will take, and we've also yet to hear word on whether Charli will make up her missed appearance, so we'll just have to wait for more details on that for now.
In the meantime, check the announcement below.
