Back in May of last year, it was announced that Watchmen creator Damon Lindelof would be following his massively successful series with a new one called Mrs. Davis for NBCU's Peacock streaming service. The show was described as "an exploration of faith versus technology — an epic battle of biblical and binary proportion."
Now, we're getting our first look at the new series, which stars Betty Gilpin as Simone, a nun who's on a mission to destroy the world's most powerful algorithm. That sounds insane! But the stills look cool and Gilpin is a great actor — check out her performance in the unfairly cancelled GLOW for proof — so there's some major promise for the series.
The cast is rounded out by Andy McQueen, Ben Chaplin, Margo Martindale, David Arquette, Elizabeth Marvel, Katja Herbers, Chris Diamantopoulos, Ashley Romans, Tom Wlaschiha and Mathilde Ollivier. Tara Hernandez is showrunner, co-writer and executive producer, while Lindelof is co-writer and executive producer.
The show now also has an official release date — it's premiering April 20, 2023, and will consist of eight 60-minute episodes. Alongside the premiere announcement and images, Peacock also shared the following message "from" Mrs. Davis. Read it and check out the pictures below.
