It sounds like Ryan Gosling's (exceptionally beefy) Ken won't be much more than a pretty face: the actor revealed some details about his character in the upcoming Barbie movie in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight.
While promoting his new film The Gray Man, the Canadian actor mused with ET's Lauren Zima about which role required more grind time, citing his previously teased six-pack in the first look at the upcoming feature film.
"That Ken life is even harder than The Gray Man life, I think," Gosling said, deciding that, although fantastic, life in plastic is inevitably harder. "He's got no money, no job, no car; he's got no house. He's going through some stuff," he added of his character. Is there still beauty in pain?
Although major plot details remain scarce, numerous set photos have leaked showcasing Gosling and Margot Robbie as Barbie in retro, throwback outfits (and cowboy regalia) inspired by the many iconic looks Barbie has donned over the years.
Gosling's castmates who have confirmed their involvement in the star-studded feature include Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, America Ferrera, Emma Mackey, Kingsley Ben-Adir and Issa Rae, as well as fellow Canadians Michael Cera and Simu Liu, who made director Greta Gerwig audibly guffaw in his audition.
