After a recent streaming explosion skyrocketed Suits to a victory lap four years after its finale, the show's creator Aaron Korsh is reportedly heading up a new spinoff for NBCUniversal, per Deadline — but it likely won't be filmed in Toronto like the original series.
Despite being set in New York City, Suits was shot almost entirely in Toronto. Since the show hasn't even been officially picked up by the network yet, minimal details have been unveiled thus far, but we do know they're planning to set it in Los Angeles, which would all but eliminate Toronto as a shooting location.
The resurgence in popularity — Suits aired its first episode in 2011, going on to wrap up a nine-season run in 2019 — has come in the wake of the US Netflix arrival of Meghan Markle's Harry and Meghan docuseries. The actor, who played Rachel Zane and got engaged to Prince Harry back in 2017, has helped propel the show to Nielsen's all-time streaming record.
The spinoff doesn't have a home as of yet, but IndieWire reports that NBC, USA Network (where Suits originally aired) and Peacock are all contenders.
