Though he's managed to piss off a great deal of police officers, Quentin Tarantino is having a hell of a year thanks to the buzz for his new film The Hateful Eight. We should all enjoy it while we can, because the auteur has now said he only plans to make two more films.
In a new roundtable discussion hosted by The Hollywood Reporter, the long-running director said he only plans to make 10 films in his life. "Well I'm probably only going to make 10 movies, so I'm already planning on what I'm going to do after that," he said. "That's why I'm counting them. I have two more left. I want to stop at a certain point."
His post-movie career plans still sound plenty interesting, however, as the director said, "What I want to do basically is I want to write novels and I want to write theater and I want to direct theater."
Some of those theatrical plans include stage adaptations of his movies. "I actually want to do a theatrical adaptation of Hateful Eight because I actually like the idea of other actors having a chance to play my characters and see what happens from that," he said.
First things first, however, Tarantino will still crank out two more films. The Hateful Eight, on the other hand, hits theatres on Christmas Day.
