Last summer, Nickelodeon revealed its plans to launch a SpongeBob SquarePants animated spinoff about the titular sponge's best friend/sidekick, Patrick Star. Now, the network has dropped the show's first teaser, and you can watch it below.
The new series — aptly titled The Patrick Star Show — will follow Patrick and his family as they are "constantly disrupted by Patrick's wild whims and surreal imagination," according to Deadline. The series is scheduled to arrive at Nickelodeon this July.
"Nickelodeon is diving deeper into Bikini Bottom to give fans a look at our lovable young adult Patrick Star and his entire family with a sitcom only he could imagine up," Ramsey Naito, president of Nickelodeon Animation, previously said of the forthcoming series.
Patrick will be voiced by Bill Fagerbakke, who has portrayed the character since 1999. Additional cast members include Tom Wilson, Cree Summer, Jill Talley, Dana Snyder, Tom Kenny, Rodger Bumpass, Carolyn Lawrence, Clancy Brown and more.
