Jenny Slate (of Kroll Show, SNL and "Marcel the Shell" fame) had a major breakthrough role in 2014 with the critically acclaimed abortion comedy Obvious Child. Now, the actress is returning to work with that film's creative team on a new pilot for FX.
The yet-to-be-titled show stars Slate alongside Ari Graynor (Bad Teacher, Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist). The show is being co-created and written by Obvious Child writer-director Gillian Robespierre and writer-producer Elisabeth Holm.
The series follows the lives of a pair of New York filmmakers in their thirties who decide to take off on a cross-country road trip. A press release describes the series as an "honest comedy," adding, "It's like Thelma and Louise — but nobody dies."
