Henry Cavill's Geralt of Rivia just got a wardrobe update

It might be some time before Netflix delivers Season 2 of The Witcher, after production on the show was halted significantly because of COVID-19. The latest update from showrunners puts the series return sometime in 2021, but as this year has shown us, plans and schedules are no longer real or definite. To tide us over, Netflix has shared a sneak peek of what's to come with some new Geralt of Rivia imagery and a flashy wardrobe update.

This morning, the series' official Twitter account dropped a pair of new images of Henry Cavill's witcher in striking new armour. "His emotional shield can ward off any charmer, but his trusted sword he'll wield, will be matched with new armour," the tweet reads.

So far, the responses online are understandably a mix of video game nerds and thirsty Cavill fans. You can decide which camp you're in by checking out the photos below.

As far as Season 2 is concerned, we don't have much more to go on. As previously reported, production on the sophomore season began in August, and several reports indicate that production on Season 3 might begin as early as next year. So far, neither season has an official release date.

Cavill will obviously return in Season 2, alongside Anya Chalotra reprising her role as Yennefer, Freya Allan returning as Ciri and Joey Batey as Jaskier the Bard, among others. Kim Bodina will also be taking on the role of Vesemir, the mentor of Geralt of Rivia.
