Soon enough, the world will have to endure talking poo and a wide variety of smiley faces with the arrival of The Emoji Movie. One smartphone regular that likely won't get its due, however, is the phallic eggplant emoji. Fortunately, another movie based on that erect aubergine is in the works.

More specifically, Netflix is working on a movie that's straight-up called The Eggplant Emoji. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be a live-action comedy about a teen who accidentally cuts his own dick off on a camping trip.

If there's anyone who's unafraid to take on an idea this stupid, it's director Jake Szymanski. After all, the Funny or Die alum is the same guy who has helmed two Lonely Island sports specials for HBO, not to mention the incredibly dumb Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates

Szymanski's not the only auteur signed on for the project. The film is being produced by Ben Stiller and Nicky Weinstock via Red Hour Films as well as the Blake Anderson, Adam Devine, Anders Holm and Kyle Newacheck, best known as the dudes behind Workaholics.

Now someone just needs to make an erotic film about the peach emoji.
