Today's content glut has proven to be the perfect place for Nicolas Cage-esque watchable trash, so it only makes sense that a big streamer is moving ahead with a TV adaptation of the National Treasure film franchise.
Disney+ has greenlit a new series of the ridiculous action thriller, which previously spawned two much-mocked movies. The show will once again be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, with a screenplay from Cormac and Marianne Wibberley, who previously wrote the first two screenplays.
It's as yet unclear if Nicolas Cage will return, though even if he does, he won't be the star. The new iteration is said to be focused on a 20-year-old DREAMer named Jess Morales.
