Marvel has revealed the actor who will be playing Thor in the upcoming phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Natalie Portman.
The news was announced at this weekend's San Diego Comic-Con, where Portman took the stage bearing Thor's giant-sized hammer. The upcoming film is called Thor: Love and Thunder, and it will be directed by returning Thor director Taika Waititi. Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth are also on board.
Portman wrote on Instagram, "So thrilled to share the news with you today at #sdcc2019 that I'll be returning to the @marvel #mcu as female Thor."
She added in her Instagram caption, "Remember this as the before picture for when I get jacked."
Thor: Love and Thunder won't be out for more than two years, but it already has a date: November 5, 2021. Mark it in your calendars! (Or simply check back to this website for updates.)
