Thanks to roles in The Wolf of Wall Street, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot and this year's much-hyped Suicide Squad, Margot Robbie is on her way to becoming one of Hollywood's brightest new stars. Up next, she's got a real-life biopic in the works with news that she plans to play Olympic figure skater Tonya Harding.
As first reported by Deadline, Robbie is set to star in I, Tonya, a film about the troublesome childhood, rise to fame and fall from grace of the famed Olympic skater.
Harding is likely best known for her face off against Nancy Kerrigan in 1994. The two were set to compete for the gold medal at the 1994 Olympics, when Harding's then husband and a few hired goons attempted to break Kerrigan's leg. They were caught after merely bruising Kerrigan, and Harding was banned from the Olympics for life.
We wish Margot Robbie all the best for her work on I, Tonya. As they say in showbiz, break a leg!
